Coordinators

Leonardo van den Berg

Emma Diemont
In 2007 I started to work as a coordinator at OtherWise. Besides this I’m also working as a researcher at Van Hall Larenstein (University for Applied sciences).
I have a background in development sociology, and that is how I became involved in OtherWise. I’m interested in development cooperation, but maybe even more in developments, trends, visions and views in the broadest sense of the word! That is also what OtherWise is dealing with: asking students and others for their input in activities and strategies, and hence dealing with new and divergent worldviews
and challenging often settled ways of thinking. Therefore this is an inspiring environment where you can learn from each other and where creativity
is abundant!

Margriet Goris

November 2010 I started working as a coordinator at OtherWise. I have a background in working with NGO’s on sustainable development and human rights issues. To me OtherWise is an inspiring organization which takes the role of critically following new developments within international co-operation and making research accessible, straightforward to share and apply. This is done through the facilitation of demand driven research.

During my study Non-western Sociology I specialized in Etnovideograhpy, a film discipline for research and education. Enthusiast about working with participatory video I did a post-doc Radio and Television documentary.

OtherWise creates the opportunity to work within a trans-disciplinary team were people with various cultural and educational background learn and co-create knowledge on development issues.
